W-LAN security in general
Telia HomeRun's security is comparable to any other connection to the Internet.
Customers are protected against some of the more common forms of attack
from the Internet, and additional security between customers has also been
introduced in the network.
However, the main responsibility for security issues - as always when dealing
with Internet traffic - is the customer's.
This means that you might want to take some additional precautions to protect
your terminal (PC, Laptop or PDA).
Internet itself doesn't use any cryptation for the transfer of information,
so if you want to establish connections that can't be tapped into between,
for example, a HomeRun-site and a LAN at your office, you will need some
other form of VPN-client (Virtual Private Network).
If you want additional security against hackers, we recommend some form
of firewall for the staff. Anti-virus programs are also advisable, as always when using Internet. |
